HDX (Heavy Duty trailer)
When you drive on rough roads or off-road, the forces on the trailer construction increase enormously. As a solution, Knapen Trailers offers the HDX model, the Heavy Duty moving floor trailer with numerous reinforcements in both the chassis and the body. These reinforcements increase the resale or trade-in value of the HDX. The proven HDX moving floor trailer can be supplied with a self-supporting steel or aluminium chassis.
HDX-model:
The proven moving floor trailer for use on rough roads and off-road since 2004
Reinforced chassis and body
The lightest Heavy Duty moving floor trailer in the market
Mandatory version in all countries with rough roads such as Russia, Latvia and Ireland, and off-road applications. Ask your dealer if the HDX-model is mandatory and/or recommended in your region or application area
The many reinforcements incorporated in the HDX are mainly located on the inside of the trailer so they are not immediately visible. For example, the HDX features a reinforced chassis, a reinforced floor and a reinforced body. This unique construction method significantly reduces the maintenance costs of the HDX. The stronger HDX retains a higher value for trade-in or resale purposes.
Not only the steel chassis, but also the aluminium chassis is a popular option in this HDX version. If you opt for the Heavy Duty aluminium chassis, then you are assured of the lightest Heavy Duty moving floor trailer on the market.
HDX, the proven Heavy Duty Trailer
Knapen Trailers has been delivering self-supporting moving floor trailers in a Heavy Duty version, called HDX, since 2004. The HDX is the result of numerous practical tests on rough road conditions in the Baltic States and Russia. Its performance makes it the number one, proven model for poor roads and off-road use. In general, the roads in Eastern European countries such as Russia, Latvia, Belarus and Ukraine are rougher than in Western Europe. The roads in Ireland also fall into this category. In these rough conditions, the HDX has proven to be a trailer without technical risks. Thanks to the Heavy Duty version, Knapen Trailers is also the specialist and market leader in moving floor trailers in these Eastern European countries.
HDX vs NEXT – what makes the HDX a Heavy Duty trailer?
In comparison to a NEXT trailer, the many reinforcements in the HDX model can mainly be found inside the trailer, which means they are not always visible to the naked eye. When you are driving on rough roads or off-road, the forces on the trailer construction increase enormously. That is why reinforcements have been applied to the chassis, for example, at many different points. These include additional cross members in the chassis, but also additional guides under the moving floor and an 18T coupling plate as standard on the HDX model. Not only the steel chassis, but also the aluminium chassis is a popular option in this HDX version. If you opt for the aluminium chassis, then you are assured of the lightest and strongest moving floor trailer on the market.
The body of the trailer has also been reinforced at various points. You can recognise an HDX trailer by the HDX signing. One of the reasons for using this signing is that in trade-in or resale situations it indicates that the trailer is a more robust HDX model that retains its value for longer.
Rough roads
Do you intend to drive on rough roads and completely off-road? For example, in forestry, in fields or at landfill sites? The HDX model has proven to be the best model without technical risks with off-road use too. Your dealer can tell you exactly when the HDX model is mandatory and/or recommended per region and application area
